Monica Giragosian received her training at the Maryland Youth Ballet, the Washington School of Ballet and the Kirov Academy of Ballet. She also attended summer programs at American Ballet Theatre in New York and the Kaatsbaan International Dance Center. In 2008, Monica placed in the Top Twelve Women at the Youth America Grand Prix regional competition, and in 2009, she was a New York City Finalist. Monica joined BalletMet Columbus as a trainee in 2009 where she performed in productions including Swan Lake, Gerard Charles’ The Nutcracker and Cinderella, and David Nixon’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. With American Repertory Ballet, Monica has performed a number of principal roles in Nutcracker, including the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Snow Queen, as well as Juliet in Douglas Martin's Romeo and Juliet, Emily in Philip Jerry's Our Town, and featured roles in works by Mary Barton and Kirk Peterson.
In 2008, Giragosian placed in the Top Twelve Women at the Youth America Grand Prix regional competition, and in 2009, she was a New York City Finalist.
